Interested in becoming a bricklaying apprentice in Adelaide? There is a strong demand for bricklaying apprentices in South Australia. There are 12 employers currently looking to recruit for 16 apprenticeships. They are seeking: applicants under 21 years of age, with a drivers license and a car or motorcycle who are Australian citizens, or hold an eligible visa.
To support these employers FCTA – Building Careers has developed a 4-week intensive short course. The focus will be on developing practical skills that give applicants the best chance of securing an apprenticeship. We expect training to commence in January 2021.
This course can provide you with employment opportunities, but there is no employment guarantee, hiring decisions are ultimately made by the employer.
The course will cover the following units:
|CPCCWHS1001||Prepare to work safely in the construction industry|
|CPCCOHS2001A||Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry|
|CPCCBL3005A||Lay masonry walls and corners|
|UNACCREDITED||Prepare to assist a bricklayer on a work site|
Students will be placed with employers for work experience. On successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the accredited units.
The Federal & State Governments are currently developing funding programmes to support course delivery. Once we have more information about the course funding we will be able to notify registered applicants to attend an information session about the course.
